Cinque Terre is the perfect place to take a day trip to from Florence. It is five different towns all connected by hiking paths along the west coast of Italy. Each town is very small. They thrive off tourism. Our train ticket was very inexpensive. It's a great place to go just to be in the quiet. That's one thing I miss from Texas, is being able to go home. This place is perfect for that. All we did was buy a train ticket. Arrived, hiked up to the view point of Vernazza, soaked that in. Then lunch on the docks next to the water. Sam and I shared pesto lasagna and tuna pasta. Tiramisu for desert of course. Afterwards we just basked on the rocks in the sun, read and wrote postcards. It was so peaceful. Anyways I'll post some pictures. Rome soon to come.
Of course the typical italian door.
Me trying not to break my ankle.
Vernazza, Italy
The gorgeous cliffs of the Italian West Coast.
Had to sport the white TOM's.
Little gates and doors were hidden all up in the cliffs. I love them!
Old door.
I.love.the.water.
Cinque Terre was filled with Cats. Just like home!
Sportin' the TOM's, once again!
It was so cool, these rocks were huge. The water echoed from underneath. Such a relaxing, soothing sound.
Tiramisu- in Italian it means, "Can I help you up?"
I want a tiramisu JUST LIKE THAT within an hour of arriving!
